water's octagonal surface, a boat blows up its sails as it approaches the
shore. A piece of silk is fluttering at the top of the mast. Through its
transparency, the sun plays with kaleidoscopic colours, distorting its contours
before it is swallowed on the spot by the first 13th-century gargoyle on the
horizon.
