RALUCA ARNĂUTU: UNFINISHED PIECE IN A DEFINED FRAME

Anaid Art Gallery Bucharest - presents the solo show "Unfinished piece in a defined frame" signed by Raluca Arnăutu.

 

Wednesday, November 18, 2020, from 15:00 to 19:00, the solo show "Unfinished piece in a defined frame" signed by Raluca Arnăutu, curator Diana Dochia will take place at Anaid Art Gallery Bucharest. Participation is possible only with prior appointment at the following e-mail address: info@anaidartgallery.com.

 

The public of contemporary art will be able to visit the exhibition between November 18 and December 12, 2020. The visiting hours of the gallery are from Tuesday to Friday between 14:00 and 18:00 and on Saturdays by appointment. Visiting during the exhibition will be done only by appointment at info@anaidartgallery.com.

 

This project is part of the Program to support art galleries in Bucharest initiated by the Capital City Hall through the General Directorate of Landscape Architecture and Public Monuments and the Expo Arte Cultural Center.

 

After a series of solo international exhibitions, in recent years - 2017 "Le Rencontre des Mondes", Abbaye du Voeu, Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, France; 2018 "Deconstruction", Kahan Art Space, Budapest, Hungary and 2019 "Invasion im Gras", Anaid Art Gallery Berlin, Germany and the specific site installation in the space of the Glacier gallery at the Cultural Center "Brâncoveneşti Palaces" in Mogoşoaia in collaboration with Matei Arnăutu; the artist, Raluca Arnăutu, returns with a solo show at Anaid Art Gallery space in Bucharest.

 

The exhibition "Unfinished piece in a defined frame" signed by Raluca Arnăutu proposes to visitors a foray into the world of collage through a series of over 15 works created between 2019-2020 and brought to the public for the first time.

 

"Unfinished piece in a defined frame" continues in a sense the artist's search for the construction and deconstruction of the image in the collages developed in the personal project "Deconstruction" exhibited in 2018 in Budapest. In the new series of collages, the artist uses a plenitude of various materials, shapes and readymade objects, through which, the characters taking over the exhibition space of the gallery, come to life. The artist builds characters, as in a play by Eugen Ionescu, the works being densely structured within a temporary time frame.

 

The association of words, materials of various textures, small plastic objects - dice, wheels, lego pieces - creates juxtapositions in which the text merges with the image emphasizing the value of the created compositions.

 

Raluca Arnăutu has developed in her artistic projects, her own language of communication with the viewer, revealing authentic ways of expression and analysis. Her characters carry on mute dialogues and invent possible worlds, in a world lacking logic and hope. The dream is the one that sets in motion the artist's imagination and sensitivity.

 

The arrangement of the exhibition was conceived like in a theatre stage, where the works are displayed face to face on the gallery walls, the visitor being in the middle of the characters. Only one person is allowed to visit the exhibition so that no one meets anyone and the experience is as personal as possible. The exhibition space of the gallery has been redesigned for this exhibition season so as to replicate a cloistered block of flats, precisely to offer a unique experience of visiting.

 

The visit can take place according to the measures regarding the access and contact with the visiting public in museums and art galleries according to the Government Decision no. 476/2020 Order 2941/2020. One or maximum two persons can visit the exhibition at the same time; the distance between visitors should be 2 m, the mask to cover the mouth and nose will be worn throughout the whole visit, in the gallery courtyard and inside the gallery as well; visitors will be asked to use the hand sanitizer available at the entrance, their temperature will be measured and they need to fill out their contact details. Any visitor who does not comply with these requirements will not be able to visit the exhibition.
