Tuesday, 14 of November 2006, at 6:00 p.m. will take place at ANAID ART GALLERY the opening of the exhibition “The Beauty and The Beast”, within the project “Figurative and Figure in Romanian Young Art”. The public interested in contemporary art will be able to visit the exhibition from 21 - 26 of November 2006.
The project “Figurative and Figure in Romanian Young Art” initiated by University of Art and Design in Cluj, in collaboration with Brukenthal Museum in Sibiu, Open Studio Association Mirecurea Ciuc and Anaid Art Gallery has come to an end, the last two exhibitions taking place at Anaid Art Gallery during:

The project will be pursued with the financial support of The national cultural fund (AFCN) as it is one of the 92 projects that obtain financing from the above mentioned institution in the first session of application organized by the Administration of the Fund at the end of 2005. Activities within the project will include two exhibition, namely “Retinal / Seduction” (artists - Marius Bercea, Florin Ciulache, Mirela Crăciun, Oana Fărcaş, Kudor Duka Istvan, Şerban Savu, Roman Tolici, Iuliana Vâlsan) and “The Beauty and The Beast” (artists - Suzana Dan, David Istvan, Dumitru Gorzo, Marius Jucan, Alexandru Rădvan, Mircea Suciu, Sorin Tara, Simona Vilău)
The main premise that the project is based upon is that we have seen in the recent years the emergence of what can already be considered as a generation of Romanian artists with an impressive potential of expressivity. Beyond the fact that most of the artists involved in this project are proving to be ever stronger artistic personalities and the particular direction in which the artistic production of each of them is heading to, their art shares either stylistic or conceptual traits that brings them together within a certain common area of signifying.
The artists that the present project is focussing on are using traditional artistic media such as painting and graphics, their artistic production from the last few years showing and being part of a renewed and increased interest of the artistic milieu, Romanian as well as international, for such type of artistic expression.
The visual and conceptual dialog between these artists is also intended to be an opportunity of augmenting their perception by the public, with its narrower or broader categories (the area of critic discourse, the market, the press and generally the art public). Given this, the exhibitions will be featured by meetings and talks of the artists and curators involved with representatives of different categories of the public, from art professionals to journalists, from collectors to art high school students.
