MIRELA TRĂISTARU: PARADISE

March 17 - April 6, 2005 Anaid Art Gallery Bucharest

Thursday, 17th March 2005, at 06:00 pm it will take place at ANAID ART GALLERY the opening of the exhibition "Paradise" signed Mirela Trăistaru. The public interested in contemporary art will be able to visit the exhibition from 17th March until 6th April 2005.

The exhibition "Paradise" talks abut a walk in the Eden Garden, a demitical Eden, a contemporary Eden. Mirela Trăistaru creates a garden in which the already known elements imbed with feminine figures, that goes with the mind to the contemporary advertising images. Made use of cliché, Mirela Trăistaru's work it will be discovered in stages. The elements that refer to kitsch (the angels that appears once on the chocolates boxes, the coloured glass fishes) are associated with the expressionist gestualism and with the feminine images from the publicity graphics.

The garden is recreated and in the framework of a video projection, to performers, from National Theater, Tania Popa and Marius Manole, recreates the primordial couple, Adam and Eva. Detached from Mirela Trăistaru's paintings they rediscover the world through painting.

The painting of big seizes, installation, body painting, video images are interrelated and creates a unitary hall, defining the Paradise. A Paradise seen thru a contemporary perspective.

The chromatic and compositional expressionism explodes in the gallery space, conducting the viewer into a mythical world, but in the same time contemporary one.

The gallery visit hours are: Monday - Friday: 11:00 am - 07:00 pm; Saturday: 10:00 am - 06:00 pm.
