CEZAR & OVIDIU POPA: 2012

October 19 - November 19, 2011 Anaid Art Gallery Bucharest
Wednesday, October 19th 2011, at 07:30 pm, the opening of the exhibition"2012"signed by Cezar & Ovidiu Popa, curator: Diana Dochia, shall take place at ANAID ART GALLERY. The persons who are fond of contemporary art will be able to visit the exhibition starting with October 19th until November 19th 2011.
The exhibition “2012” signed by Cezar and Ovidiu Popa represents the debut project of the two artists within the Romanian contemporary art space.
“2012”, the year which marks, in the frame of some beliefs, the end, the Apocalypse, appears in their artistic approach as a field of fight between the good and evil forces.
The exhibition project “2012” discusses the mankind history within a predestined course of events. Using symbols and metaphors, the images painted by Cezar and Ovidiu Popa lead to a new vision regarding the leading forces of the contemporary world. The fight between good and evil, the idea of freedom, the fate, the power, the money, the desire, the death, the dissolution, the faith are reconfigured within the artistic project in which the introduction is made by a satyr and the end or maybe the salvation comes from Sarakiel, one of the archangels.
Cezar & Ovidiu Popa do not throw the world into the air, do not discuss a bloody and a macabre world’s end, but they rather question the assumptions of this end. Who is to blame for? How did we come to this? Is there hope? Are we governed by a dictated will? Are we really free? Or everything was already preordained?
AnaidArtGallery invites you to make an incursion in the contemporary art from Monday to Friday from 11:00 am until 07:00 pm, and Saturday from 10:00 am until 06:00 pm.
