On Saturday, 17th of May 2008, at 20:00 o’clock, at ANAID ART GALLERY will take placethe opening of the exhibition “The Last Temptation” in the frame of the “Cerebral Antagonism” curatorial project , curator Diana Dochia. “The LastTemptation” exhibition is unfolding within the “Museums’ Night” project; on 17thof May 2008 the art gallery will stay open between 20:00 o’clock and 3:00 o’clock. The persons that are fond of contemporary art will be able to see the exhibition starting with 17th of May until 21st of June 2008.

”The Last Temptation” is the second exhibition within the “CerebralAntagonism” project which will have as protagonists the following artists: Harem6 (Ildikó Mureşan & Flavia Marele), Alexandru Rădvan and Sorin Tara. If the Good is the exception and the Evil is the rule of the human behavior, and if ignorance favors Evil, then the temptations, the martyrdoms, the torments represent the path towards Good which transgresses Evil.

Harem6 (Ildikó Mureşan & Flavia Marele), Alexandru Rădvan and Tara bring into discussion the history and the society in which we are living, what we used to be, what we are and what we might become. Reason becomes aware of itself; it singularizes itself and at the same time individualizes trying to remove the mystery, the ineffable, and the spiritual.

The drawings from the series “Studies for Homage to Judas” signed by Alexandru Rădvan illustrate “the last temptation” of the traitor apostle Judas. Tormented by betrayal, and the guiltiness of his act, Judas hangs himself.

Harem6 (Ildikó Mureşan & Flavia Marele) searches the truth beyond conventions in the photographs series called “Cirkus”.

Tara’s altar describes states, conflicts, disorientation, confusion, panic, anguish, suffocation, fear, vertigo.

“The last temptation” describes the vision of a painful, mutilated humanity in which the individual is always alone, irremediably alone.

The “Cerebral Antagonism”curatorial project tries to bring into discussion the role that the contemporary art and the contemporary artist have in the present day society; the relations which the artist establishes with the environment in which he lives, with the surrounding world, with the audience that sees his works.

The exhibition design will be performed by the architect Attila Him within the program „anaid art + architecture project”, initiated by AnaidArtGallery and Studio Kim Bucşa Diaconu.

AnaidArtGallery invites you to make a foray in the contemporary art from Monday until Friday from 11:00 to 19:00 and on Saturday from 10:00 to 18:00.
